Hive Learning started out in 2013 when rugby-world cup winning coach, Sir Clive Woodward, and the UK’s digital venture builder, Blenheim Chalcot, joined forces to disrupt the ineffective and unengaging world of digital learning.
They were joined by an energetic and experienced team, all with a passion for learning and making a difference. The founding team included Hive Learning’s now CEO Julia Tierney and North America’s General Manager, Fred Moss.
The team’s goal was to create a scalable learning model that took the pressure off learning teams and put responsibility into the hands of their people to stimulate everyday learning and collaboration.
This innovative founding team captured masses of data and got seriously analytical about what makes learning stick. Using their network, the team worked with early adopter customers from both the sport world – with customers like The International Olympic Committee, The Premier League and The Football Association – and the corporate world, working with the likes of Sky and Sainsbury’s.
What quickly became clear is that Hive Learning’s magic was peer learning. An entirely new approach that helped organizations create and sustain behavior change at scale, by getting everyone on the same page about what good looked like and passing responsibility on to learners.
The rest is history. Today Hive Learning’s data set comprises of over 20 million learning moments and the team have studied 1000s of social movements both at work and in life to create a winning formula that is changing the face of how some of the world’s largest and most innovative organizations operate.
We’re on a mission to build a more equitable and inclusive world through our Inclusion Works peer learning program. We teach people what it means to be inclusive at work and create the conditions for diverse teams to thrive.
But this isn’t where we started. We’re on our own diversity, equity and inclusion journey and we still have work to do ourselves.
So we’re following our own program, constantly evolving our practices, and making sure our hiring, progression and development processes are equitable. We’re particularly being proactive in increasing diversity in senior roles.
We are committed to building a team that represents a whole host of backgrounds, perspectives and skills and we’re proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.
Alongside this work, we continually strive to represent all dimensions of diversity in our programs and products, using a network of diverse contributors and advisors.
We practice what we preach at Hive Learning. We work really hard on our culture and we’re committed to creating a supportive, growth-minded, and inclusive team. We’ve had a number of new faces join us over the past year, so we thought we’d let them tell you what it’s like working here.
We believe in the power of networks and harnessing diverse perspectives. This is just a few people in the team. Our business and our all of our products have specialist expert advisory board members too.
