According to Josh Bersin, the average learner has just 24 minutes a week to spend on learning. But we think the reality is that today it’s probably even less.
And for the last few years, we’ve observed that more and more talent and development leaders have been seeking ways to create a more connected development experience.
In fact, Fosway –– Europe’s #1 HR analyst –– reported in their latest snapshot of the learning market that helping people access learning from wherever they spend most of their day is one of the most critical components for organisations to get right.
We agree.
We are a firm believers in a human-centred approach to learning design. And we know that learners are under more pressure than they’ve ever been. From individual contributors to leaders and managers, all of our people are having to juggle more complex and competing priorities than at any point in recent history.
We also know that they’re losing up to an hour a day or five hours a week because because they’re constantly switching between tools.
They’re drowning in notifications and they’ve probably also got 10s of urgent:important priorities every week they have to try and keep on top of.
It’s no surprise, then, that many busy leaders and managers struggle to make culture change one of the top 10 things on their to do list in a given day.
If we want to make it easy for people to prioritise their role in our culture change journeys, we need to make it easy for them to put new behaviours into practice.
For us, creating a connected development experience doesn’t mean merging all learning experiences into one.
We often hear often from our customers that –– especially when it comes to culture and behaviour change –– people leaders and learners alike value the ‘mindset switch’ they get when they enter the Hive Learning platform.
Our learners recognise Hive Learning as a place where they can expect to interact with challenging, thought-provoking content and conversations. They’re ready for it, they embrace it, and get value from it.
They also recognise it as their own personal ‘behaviour change’ concierge –– helpfully nudging them along and reminding them to put all of the new behaviours they’ve learned into practice.
And the results speak for themselves –– typically 88% of our learners take action on what they’ve learned and we see monthly engagement rates of up to 90%.
But still, we want to make life even easier for our busy learners.
That’s why we’re excited to add to our feature set and announce the launch of a new Microsoft Integrations Suite today which will do two things:
In short, we’ll help learners cut through the noise and focus on what’s really important –– forming new habits and putting them into practice.
Our Hive Learning Microsoft Integrations Suite will help learners…
Access Hive Learning nudges from within Teams, making it easy to know what’s important (but deployed at a rhythm designed not to be distracting)
Intelligent nudges in Microsoft Teams notify learners about new conversations, content, and responses at a frequency to work in harmony with notifications across all other channels (so there’s no spam here)
Easily keep on top of and contribute to meaningful conversations
Learners will be notified about new and trending conversations from within Teams to keep FOMO and accountability high. What’s more, they can respond and comment on conversations they’re a part of in real time from within the Teams app.
