Hive Learning and Place2Be shortlisted for 2022 Learning Technologies Award for ‘Best learning technologies project - public & non-profit’


London, 2nd November 2022: Place2Be — a children’s mental health charity with over 25 years’ experience working with pupils, families and staff in UK schools — and Hive Learning — the peer learning platform who use network science and nudge theory to help learner’s embed critical skills  — have been shortlisted for the 2022 Learning Technologies award for ‘Best learning technologies project – public & non-profit sector’.


Place2Be partnered with Hive Learning to deliver their first online learning programme ‘Mental Health – Foundations’ for teachers, reaching 42% of schools across the UK and over 64,000 teachers – 100x the reach they’d ever reached before using face to face delivery.


This resulted in over 90% of participants feeling their capacity to lead a positive approach to mental health and wellbeing in schools had increased, and 73% learnt something that changed their actions, behaviour, or attitude.


The approach has since been used for more programmes reaching new audiences such as trainee teachers, youth workers, parents and carers. As well as impacting the wider industry, with research partners and youth organisations such as Save The Children and Youth Scotland adopting the innovative approach.


The Learning Technologies Awards are the most independent and sought-after awards in the industry. They recognise the commitment, enthusiasm and passion for learning technologies across the world. Finalists are selected by an independent judging panel of experts organised by the Learning Network.


The winners will be announced on the 16th November.
